From: aussiebuddy (Original Message) Sent: 10/12/2003 8:49 AM Is the King James Version.. the only version that was translated from the majority texts? Just that the language is quite old and therefore not easily read for the average person. That would be why it isnt adopted as such anymore. Thats just a simple reason i guess. And Rev Jim.. hehe as a university student.. where are your sources for some of the stuff you have written.. because as a student i shouldnt always just assume and trust what you write is accredited. no offense to what you have said.

From: Manager Rev. Jim Sent: 10/12/2003 7:04 PM "Accredited"? Now a person who discusses Scripture must show accredited proof? Last I read in Scripture we are guided by the Holy Spirit and by reason to interpret God's Word. "Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistles written in our hearts, known and read of all men; forasmuch as ye are MANIFESTLY DECLARED to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God." 2 Corinthians 3:1. Brother, do I need to prove that I can read English? Do I need to prove that I can read Greek and Hebrew? Anyone who can read and write can see FOR THEMSELVES which Bible is correct by simply comparing the versions to each other. If, for example, a bible version, like the NIV, calls Lucifer the "Morning Star" - a title which belongs to JESUS - one does not need outside accredited proof to know this is wrong. Such a bible version is fit for nothing but to be thrown into a raging fire. If one has eyes to see, one does not need someone else's "accedited proof" to know this for themselves. However, if "accredited" proof is what you seek, there are literally thousands of books on the market, written by thousands of wonderful men and women of God, which show the absolute corruption of each of the new bible versions and the perfection of the King James Version. You will find some of these at your local Christian book store. I have a section on our group website entitled "Why trust the King James". Perhaps you might want to start there. You will find that the "Old English" of the KJV is VITAL. It is true that it may be difficult for the "average person" to understand. However, you are NOT an average person. You are a son of the Creator of the universe, and He has told you to put on the mind of Christ - not the mind of Professor So-and-So. Amen? And as a son of the Highest, you have responsibilities which do not belong to the "average person". One such responsibility is that you, along with the rest of the Body of Christ, are commanded by Scripture to not just READ the Word of God, but to STUDY it. The Bible is not for the casual, average reader. If you have to use a dictionary to understand some words, then by all means use one. That's what STUDYING is all about. My goodness, learn the Greek and Hebrew if you have to, if that's what it takes! If you are an average person who just wants something easy to read, I can recommend some really good sci-fi books. But if you are a Spirit filled, born again, blood bought son of God, a soldier of the armies of the Lord of Hosts, a priest and king unto the Almighty, and an heir to the throne of the King of kings (as is my hope that you are), then you are no average person and you have no time for a frivilous, easy to read, casual book. Love in Christ, Rev. Jim

From: Manager Rev. Jim Sent: 10/13/2003 11:49 AM Cantor,
What have I said that would lead you to believe that I am against seminary training and ordinations? I myself am an ordained minister. (And by "ordained" I mean, appointed by the Holy Spirit as a minister through the laying on of hands of the presbytery, as spoken of by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 4:14 and elsewhere.) I have no objection whatsoever to seminary training, so long as it is a biblically sound, non-denominational, non-Jesuit/Catholic seminary (a seminary cannot be biblically sound AND Catholic-run; that would be as much an oximoron as a "biblically sound Muslim or Hindu seminary"). My answer was simply in response to specific comments concerning the validity of the KJV as the only correct English version and whether or not my data is "accredited".
As I said before, "accredited" data concerning the bible versions is most certainly available to those who do not wish to study the Word for themselves, firsthand. Unfortunately, those who have not done the research for themselves can easily be persuaded by the haters of the KJV. I've seen all kinds of ridiculous and blatantly false information out there by so-called "accredited" people. Anyone can tune into TV shows, like cable's THE BIBLE UNCOVERED, where scholars from Harvard and other colleges and universities, using faulty manuscripts and bible versions, try to DISPROVE biblical accounts and reduce the Scriptures to a nice book of fairy tales. The goal of these "accredited" people is to cast doubt upon, and promote disbelief in, God and His Word. They are like the athiest scientists who are constantly trying to push already debunked evolutionary materials on unsuspecting and uneducated people.
Unfortunately, the professors at many major seminaries do not believe we even have the perfect Word of God today, and they recommend students to read any old version they so choose. In the minds of these faithless and corrupted teachers, "a bible is a bible". Because of this, it has led countless members of the clergy to interpret the Scriptures in any matter that suits them best (take the money-grubbing "name it and claim it/gab it and grab it" prosperity preaching and the horrible antigay doctrines, for example), and this has done unspeakable damage, causing honest ministers to have to spend more time disproving these falsehoods to wary unbelievers than they do in preaching the Gospel itself.
To say that we do not have God's perfect Word today is tantumount to calling God a liar, because God has sworn time and again in the Scriptures that His perfect written Word would remain with us FOREVER. In fact, major portions of the Scriptures were written specifically to those of us living in the last days. So I would ask, to what purpose would God give such Scriptures if He was unable to preserve them unto the last days? More to the point, how could we trust ANY of the Bible if God hasn't preserved His Word whole and intact?
Is it not logical that Satan would do all within his ability to corrupt the Scriptures? It is the Word of God which he fears the most. It is his bane, and a terror to him. It is our sword of defense - and offense - against him. Lucifer is as powerless before the Word of God as Superman is in the presence of Kryptonite. However, Lucifer is powerless to destroy the Word of God from the earth, and therefore, as with everything else that he does, he mocks, distorts and makes fraudulant immitations of It; and he feeds his compromises through blasphemous men to the church little by little to destroy the foundations of our faith. I am daily amazed at the lax attitude that the church has toward this most important issue. The Bible is Satan's #1 target.
So, to answer your question, no, I am not against ordinations and seminaries.
In Christ,
Rev. Jim

Do you believe in the Jesus of the NIV or the Jesus of the KJV? They are NOT the same Jesus.

There are a number of KJV's available that offer translations of difficult words (although it is a misnomer that the KJV is full of difficult words), one such being the Defined King James Bible, which is very good.
As to the question can people be saved using the NIV or other modern translation, yes. But personally, I think once saved they should get a decent KJV.

BOTFIELD SAID, "There are a number of KJV's available that offer translations of difficult words (although it is a misnomer that the KJV is full of difficult words), one such being the Defined King James Bible, which is very good. As to the question can people be saved using the NIV or other modern translation, yes. But personally, I think once saved they should get a decent KJV."Please Consider this verse from Revelation 22:16: KJV: "I, Jesus, have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and MORNING STAR."
NIV: “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright MORNING STAR.”
So, who does both bible versions agree is the Morning Star? They both confess "Jesus". Let me say it again; JESUS = THE MORNING STAR. THE MORNING STAR = JESUS.
Now let's take a peek at Isaiah 14:10-20...
KJV: "Art thou also become weak as we? Art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave and the noise of thy viols - the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most High!' Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, 'Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms, that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof, that opened not the house of his prisoners?!' All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit, as a carcase trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned."
NIV: "You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us. All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you. How you have fallen from heaven, MORNING STAR, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home? All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb. But you are cast out of your tomb like a rejected branch; you are covered with the slain, with those pierced by the sword, those who descend to the stones of the pit. Like a corpse trampled underfoot, you will not join them in burial, for you have destroyed your land and killed your people."
My friend, will you still say that the Jesus of the KJV is the same Jesus as the NIV - that you can be saved by the "jesus" of the NIV? The "jesus" of the NIV is Lucifer; the Jesus of the KJV is the Almighty God our Creator and Savior.
PS... notice that the KJV says "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north." And notice the NIV's bizarre version: "I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon." Mount Zaphon?! I've never read Lord of the Rings. Is that some place in Middle Earth? Or on a planet somewhere in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, perhaps?
