I just wanted to say hello and maybe adding something to the discussion by letting you know why I'm here and some of what I think. I joined because of the love I feel for all people. BTW, I am straight. I love the honesty I'm finding here so far! And now I have to be honest: I am a person who is very analytical. I don't understand why human beings would be attracted to the same sex especially as part of a plan. I am at a loss for words on the "why" aspect of this subject. I also know that I have friends and have observed many, many, many beautiful people who are not straight. I admire . . . and would much rather be hanging out with them than a less enlightened straight person. I am honestly seeking help with the "why" question so I can better reach out to my friends (and future friends) who may have a different sexual orientation than myself. Funny I do remember having some sexual feeling for the same sex in grade school and have some now. So in that way I can relate to what some of you may be feeling. I believe that there is probably a biological basis for sexual orientation. However, I don't like the idea that people would engage in this behavior due to mental or emotional needs. Well, at this point I'm probably starting to look pretty ignorant to a lot of you who may have a completely different experience. I once asked a (girl) friend of mine when her feelings for the same sex began. She replied that she never even remembers having sexual feelings for the opposite sex! I'm also curious: it seems like "coming out" would be more difficult for males. God Bless.
