I have been at the deathbed of men and women and children. One thing I have noticed is that parents feel the same for their young at the deathbed regardless of the sexual orientation of their child. As a hospice chaplain I can clearly see that the thing that is evident most is the love for that person who is dying. Love is stricken a wicked blow but it cannot be killed or covered up. God's mercy provides us the ability to cope yet not forget. If the love was between two men or man and a woman it is still just as strong and real. Chaplain Phillip Claude Lamb, Mdiv/D.D.
